I began practicing Yoga about 16 years ago, seeking an antidote to my then stressful lifestyle. My first experience was in a drafty hall in rural England in mid winter....brrr! It worked, I was hooked!
Since then I have gone on to practice a variety of styles (inc Classical Hatha, Iyenger, Kundalini & Yin) in the UK, Australia and Singapore with a number of different teachers. After several years taking classes, I decided to deepen my knowledge and understanding by studying to become a teacher myself.
I was lucky enough to study under Simon Low, and early in 2008 graduated as a teacher from the Yoga Academy with accreditation from the British Wheel of Yoga and the Yoga Alliance. I have also studied Yin Yoga to level II with Victor Chung (Yoga in Asia). I continue to explore Yoga with classes, workshops and my own practice. I see Yoga as a beautiful journey; every time we practice, we delve into ourselves and discover more.
In my classes I offer an eclectic blend of practice based on my broad experience. “Gentle Yin & Yang Yoga”, incorporates elements from the many teachers I have studied with over the last 16 years and reflects my personal journey today. Focusing on the individual in a non judgemental environment I look to create a supportive peaceful space where everyone can explore the practice of Yoga and experience the balance and joy in brings to body and mind. |
