CHRISTINE FARRELL
(Grad.Dip.Teaching,Grad.Dip.Counselling)
In 1979 I began the study and training of Yoga in Melbourne with Joy Spencer of Sivananda Yoga and continued in 1980 to USA and India with Swami Muktananda of Siddha Yoga. It was here that I was awakened via direct experience to the reality that within every one, is the most expansive, blissful, free state of being, our most natural state, always present and waiting to be remembered! This was a complete shift in reality and undeniably the jewel of what yoga and meditation has opened up in my life.
Over the next 32 years I have continued to practise and train in many traditions of Hatha Yoga, integrating classical and contemporary styles. My teaching style has emerged from what is true from my experience of this 'gift' of yoga. The more I have delved, the more it is offered, the more there is to understand of it's depth.
I have seen for myself and many others how yoga is just like a true a friend, with practices creating an alchemic and integral support to the different stages of life.
The magnificent highs and agonising lows, the endless ordinariness and extraordinariness, the unpredictable and inevitable changes. It is no surprise that yoga has survived the test of time as a way to bring forward health, vitality, connection and wisdom.
My current teacher ShantMayi (ShantiMayi.com) travels the world, like a beacon of light, inspiring many to remember their real inner radiance.
As part of my journey I have been drawn to explore many other healing modalities. The experience and integration of aspects of these healing arts has helped me to offer a style that is based in classical yoga techniques but is guided and modified by intuition and creativity to suit the needs of the students.
It has been and continues to be my passion and joy to share this with others.

| Testimonial I have been attending Yoga Now with Christine for about 8 years and it has now become my lifeline! Each week I go with aches and pains from daily living and know that in 75 mins after some much needed stretching, conscious breathing, relaxing and focusing on the mechanic of my body, those aches and pains will be gone. It’s like a weekly body maintenance plan. The feeling I have after the class is that of fluidity, everything has been smoothed out, my body and brain are calm and aware. It’s like the feeling after a full body massage and at a quarter of the cost!
Christine is an exceptional teacher. She has an in depth knowledge of the body, yoga and other movement programs such as Feldenkris and Pilates. Her knowledge and experience are evident in class as she is able to conduct one class for all abilities. You could be an experienced yogi, a first timer, attend class because you just want to unwind and relax after a busy week or be perfecting the art of yoga. Her classes are multi level including something for all.

I have tried many yoga teachers, and I find Christine to really
appreciate the depth and breadth of yoga. Having been out of practice
due to chronic illness, it took a long time to find an appropriate
teacher to help me build my endurance again.
Christine\'s yoga class balances flexibility with strength, and a
spiritual component so commonly lacking from modern yoga classes. She
encourages a deep awareness of the body, and allows each student to
take the postures to their own level.
