I am dedicated to the holistic practice and life of yoga. Living with spiritual-fulfilment, compassion and positivity, and sharing this with others, truly makes me happy.

Yoga entered my life when I was 16 – little did I know what it was at the time, I was practicing ‘relaxation’ (better known as Yoga Nidra) with an open-minded drama teacher. Then it wasn’t until in my early 30’s that yoga returned. After a time of many ups and downs, professional success and material comforts yet not knowing what I needed from life and searching for truth, I opened up to whatever would be right for me and not long after, I met my first yoga teacher Melanie McDonald from Melbourne. Through Melanie’s joyful classes my love of yoga was kindled and I began to flourish from the inside-out. After spending many years doing aerobics and running and hoping to find myself, yoga was like a home-coming. And I knew I would be practicing yoga for the rest of my life.

I have been teaching Hatha Yoga since 2007. I completed yoga teacher training at Yoga Thailand and Kailvalyadhama Yoga Institute in India, however it is my daily sadhana (spiritual practice) that continues to inform and inspire my teaching. Greeting everyday from the yoga mat, no matter what may be going on in life, is challenging yet truly humbling! Yoga has its unique way of showing us our capacity to let go and find inner strength. And I am constantly blown away by its grace and magic. My teaching is connected to the lineage of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga through direct experience with Sharath Rangaswami and ‘Guruiji’, the late Sri K Pattabhi Jois of Mysore, India. I am also a committed Dharma (Buddhist) and Insight Meditation practitioner. Over recent years, I am grateful to have practiced and studied with several respected western teachers including Richard Freeman, Emil Wendil and Dena Kingsberg. In 2009 I enjoyed living in the community at the Sivananda Ashram Beacon Yoga Centre, near Fremantle. I am accredited as a Yoga Teacher in Australia through the Yoga Teachers Association of Australia and internationally through Yoga Alliance.

I believe in the beauty and goodness within everyone and welcome all students to the mat. My teaching approach encourages an open-mind, and open-heart and the integration of mindfulness in everyday life. My intention is to offer yoga thoroughly, sincerely and with friendliness. I teach classical Hatha Yoga asana and pranayama, as well as dynamic, flowing Ashtanga Vinyasa. I enjoy encouraging beginner students to get to know their bodies and minds and work with more advanced students to deepen their level of self-enquiry and personal growth.

"I have attended quite a few yoga classes over the years, but they have never really felt authentic (a bit like going to the gym) and when I haven’t been able to complete the postures perfectly have given up. From your classes I have learnt to become less goal-oriented, more patient and accepting of where I am at with my yoga and I thank you for that." Glenys S

I am also a Life Coach and Enneagram practitioner. Before my yoga journey began, I had a career in human resource management, so I understand the unique challenges involved in balancing work and life. To learn more about me visit www.momentumcoachyoga.com.au
